Virginia workers first

NAFTA has devastated workers in the 5th District. In the global economy of today, we must invest in our own workers and ensure that we compete on a fair playing field. Tom will support trade policies that reflect America’s values, punish employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens, and end billions in tax breaks to companies that move good American jobs overseas

• Reject NAFTA-style agreements and promote fair trade. Fair trade means that imports should not be artificially cheap because of human or environmental degradation
• Crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants and provide small business owners with the skills they need to comply with immigration laws
• Promote the international right to organize so workers in other countries have better conditions in their home countries. This reduces immigration flows and the deflation of American wages.
